Council for Private Education

Established under the Private Education Act, the Council for Private Education is a statutory board empowered with the legislative power to regulate the private education sector. In addition to its role as the sectoral regulator of private education institutions, the Council facilitates capability development efforts to uplift standards, in the local private education industry

Medical Insurance

ISC Education Centre has in place a group medical insurance scheme provided by AXA Insurance Singapore for all students as required by CPE under EduTrust certification scheme. This medical insurance scheme shall minimally provide for an annual coverage limit of not less than S$20,000 per student, at least B2 ward in government and restructured hospitals and 24 hours coverage in Singapore and overseas (if student is involved in school-related activities) throughout the course duration.

A Singapore citizen/Permanent Resident or a non-Student’s Pass international student who is protected by his own medical insurance coverage in Singapore can opt out from the medical insurance scheme. CPE has mandated that students who opt out must produce their medical insurance policy for verification by the PEI. ISC Education Centre will only exempt students who submit a copy of their medical insurance policy for opting out.

The medical insurance covers over a period of 1 year, and has to be purchased again by the student, should the duration of the course of study exceed the 1 year duration.

Mandatory Enhanced Registration Framework (ERF)

The Enhanced Registration Framework (ERF), as set out under the Private Education Act and the Private Education Regulations, spells out the mandatory registration requirements and legislative obligations which all private education institutions, operating in and from Singapore, must meet.

It is administered by the Council for Private Education, which is the sectoral regulator overseeing the private education sector, as established under the Private Education Act.

The Enhanced Registration Framework aims to enhance the overall quality of private education institutions in Singapore and ensure that they are of a certain acceptable standard in order to protect the interests of the students enrolled in their schools. It does this through measures to enhance the following aspects of the Enhanced Registration Framework:

- Registration
- Corporate Governance
- Quality of Provisions
- Information Transparency

ISC Education Centre has been registered successfully under Enhanced Registration Framework since 03 August 2010 (Registration No. 200809186R)



EduTrust Certification Scheme

EduTrust is a voluntary certification for private education institutions (PEIs) in Singapore. A private education institution is awarded EduTrust certification if it has achieved stipulated standards in the areas of:

- Management of school;
- Provision of educational services;
- Financial health

ISC Education Centre is currently applying for the Edutrust certification and is committed to the fulfillment of the expectations required to obtain this esteemed status.
