The Organisation for Tourism and Hospitality Management (OTHM) was founded in 2003 as a professional membership body servicing the tourism and hospitality industry throughout the world. A major part of OTHM's work is to provide a track of professional management qualifications for people who wish to develop a career in the industry.

The long term academic partners of OTHM, The London South Bank University has signed an articulation agreement with OTHM, that recognises OTHM qualifications for entry into their BA (Hons) and Master's Level.

The Thames Valley University also accredited OTHM programmes in September 2007 to allow access to their Tourism and Hospitality Degree and Postgraduate programmes.

OTHM Professional Certificate (Cert OTHM)

Equivalent to National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) Level: 2 (UK) or NQF levels 3-4

Overview
- OTHM students need to be aged a minimum of 18 years plus have relevant entry qualifications.
- Mature students without suitable qualifications require 5 years experience.
- The OTHM Professional Certificate is suitable for mature students with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- This qualification will help team leaders and supervisors and those who want to rise to the first tier of management

Entry Requirements

International Students:
High School Certificate / Year 10 formal education in English.
English IELTS 6.0

17 years of age at time of application.
(but candidates need to be aged 18 years to be eligible to register as OTHM students, or sit OTHM exams).

Singapore Students:
5 GCE 'N' levels with pass in English (Grades 1-6) OR
3 GCE 'N' levels with pass in English (Grades 1-6) and minimum 3 years working relevant experience

Programme Structure
OTHM Professional Certificate in Tourism and Hospitality Management
Certificate 1: Introduction to Travel, Tourism and Hospitality
Certificate 2: Introduction to the Business Environment
Certificate 3: Introduction to Business Communication and Customer Care
Certificate 4: Introduction to Business and Finance

Duration
3 months Intensive or 6 months option.

OTHM Professional Diploma (Dip OTHM)

Equivalent to HE Level 1 and National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) Level: 3 (UK)

Overview
- The OTHM Diploma is suitable for people who have passed the OTHM Certificate (or equivalent) or who are already
  working at supervisory or management level.
- Diploma students are expected to either have work experience in the industry before joining the course or be
  working part-time in the industry during the course or both.
- Candidates should note that if they intend to study for further professional qualifications in the industry a certain
  amount of industrial experience will be required.

Professional Diploma 3: Human Resource Management
Professional Diploma 4: Tourism and Hospitality Operations Management

Entry Requirements

International Students:
OTHM Professional Certificate (Cert OTHM) OR
High School Certificate / Year 12 formal education in English.
English IELTS 6.5

Mature students with a minimum of 8 year's relevant experience including 3 year's management experience
At least 17 years of age at time of application. Applicants must be 18years when applying for OTHM student membership and entering OTHM examinations.

Singapore Students:

2 GCE 'A' levels with pass in General Paper OR
5 GCE 'O' levels with pass in English (Grades 1-6) OR
3 GCE 'O' levels with pass in English (Grades 1-6) and minimum 3 years working relevant experience OR

Overview
The OTHM Professional Higher Diploma (HDip OTHM) is suitable for people who work in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry and who have already gained an OTHM Diploma, or other qualifications at a suitable level.
This qualification is appropriate for middle and senior managers. The knowledge which will be acquired by the students should enhance career prospects. OTHM Professional Higher Diploma students are expected to either have work experience in the industry before joining the course or be working part-time in the industry during the course or both.

Professional Higher Diploma 1: Marketing Communications for Tourism and Hospitality
Professional Higher Diploma 2: International Tourism and Hospitality Business Environment
Professional Higher Diploma 3: Corporate Business Strategy and Finance

Professional Higher Diploma 5: Strategic Human Resource Management
Professional Higher Diploma 6: Project: Operations Management in the Business Environment
