ACCA - CAT Programme

Overview
ACCA – the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants – is the largest and fastest-growing global professional accountancy body. ACCA has been around for over 100 years, which means the growth of this institution is backed by a solid history. The reputation for excellence in qualifications and training is acknowledged around the world, which will have a positive impact on each graduate’s reputation in their profession. And it has students and members in over 170 countries. The ACCA’s CAT – Certified Accounting Technician qualification provides students with a solid foundation in finance and accounting.

Course Structure
(Total 9 Papers)

Introductory Level
Paper 1 – Recording Financial Transactions
Paper 2 – Information for Management Control

Intermediate Level
Paper 3 – Maintaining Financial Records
Paper 4 – Accounting for Costs

Advanced Level
Paper 5 – Managing People and Systems
Paper 6 – Drafting Financial Statements
Paper 7 – Planning, Control and Performance Management

Two optional papers from:
Paper 8 – Implementing Audit Procedures
Paper 9 – Preparing Taxation Computations
Paper 10 – Managing Finances

Admission
• Both the local and overseas students must be at least 16 years of age
• Students must have completed GCE 'O' levels, High School or its equivalent.

12 months/ 720 hours

F1 – Accountant in Business (AB)                             F6 – Taxation (TX)

F3 – Financial Accounting (FA)                                 F8 – Audit and Assurance (AA)
F4 – Corporate and Business Law (CL)                      F9 – Financial Management (FM)

Professional (5 Papers in Total)

3 Compulsory Papers
P1 – Professional Accountant (PA)
P2 – Corporate Reporting (CR)
P3 – Business Analysis (BA)

2 Elective Papers from any of the following:
P4 – Advanced Financial Management (AFM)
P5 – Advanced Performance Management (APM)
P6 – Advanced Taxation (ATX)
P7 – Advanced Audit and Assurance (AAA)

Admission
• Both the local and overseas students must be at least 18 years of age
• Students must have completed CAT, GCE ‘A’ Levels or its equivalent
• Students must at least study four ACCA papers per year

36 months/ 2160 hours
